VCS: Important news
The post provided by Jürgen Dengler (on behalf of all VCS Chief Editors)
With the third year of Vegetation Classification and Survey (VCS), IAVS’ gold open access journal, coming to a successful end, the Chief Editors have two important announcements:
First, Thanks to the generosity of IAVS, articles from first authors who are IAVS members remain exempt from article processing charges (APCs) until 30 June 2023. This applies to all contributions that have been originally submitted until this deadline, no matter how long it takes until acceptance. We thus invite IAVS members to use the remaining time to submit an interesting paper within the scope of VCS. If you are not an IAVS member yet, you can join for a low annual fee and benefit not only from the APC exemption but also from many other advantages, see: https://www.iavs.org/page/MemberBenefits.
Second, while VCS was included in the world’s largest bibliometric database, SCOPUS, since the start of 2022, this is now also visible in the free online SCOPUS journal profiles (https://www.scopus.com/sourceid/21101083451). There you can find a monthly update of the bibliometric performance of VCS in the form of its CiteScoreTracker. In June 2023, the first regular CiteScore will be published, and hopefully VCS then also will be added to the other big bibliometric database, Web of Science.
You can find further news from VCS in the new VCS Newsletter No. 7.
